HOW I CARED FOR IFE'S CIRCUMCISION WOUND

IFE TURNED ONE MONTH IN THIS PIC ON SATURDAY, THE 4TH

Oh my God, i have always wondered how having a second child will be and i even wrote this post about it SCARED OF HAVING ANOTHER BABY, HOW CAN I HANDLE IT ...My sisters, all i can say for me it's a frightening experience. Don't get me wrong o, i love having my kids but jina isn't making it easy for me at all, she cries even more than the baby, she wants so much attention, even as i am typing this she is crying
beside me to carry her. Little sleep at night and non at all in the day, what a horrible phase. Abeg mothers of 7 like my mom tried o. I am frustrated but i can imagine how they felt plus now Jina is ill so she wants plenty carry carry. who has that time, to blog is now a big issue cause i really have to do it at any little opportunity. abeg, who's going through what i am going through or went through it...?

I SAW THIS PIC ON TONTO DIKE'S  INSTAGRAM PAGE AND IT'S VERY VERY POWERFUL....KNOWING THAT YOU HAVE WHAT IT TAKES TO CALM ANOTHER HUMAN BEING DOWN OR GIVE HIM ALL THE NUTRIENTS IS REALLY A BLESSING

Back to my main gist, So ife had his circumcision on the 23rd  because we had to book and the umbilical cord had to fall off first so the pain won't be too much or so they said. Any ways being my first boy it was very hard for me to endure and just looking at it was heart breaking for me. I even wrote this post about it CIRCUMCISION, MY SON AND WHY I STILL CAN'T BELIEVE I ALLOWED IT . So most moms like me wonder what next after the circumcision, How will i care for it without hurting my baby cause it doesn't just end there. The truth is most hospitals give you pep talk on how to care for it but I'll just give you tips i learnt too in case you weren't told or just want to hear from another mom. The tips are very basic, simple and useful.

HOW TO CARE FOR YOUR BABY'S CIRCUMCISION

1: Make sure after each diaper change that you pour warm water on the wounded area making sure not to touch it.
2: Apply Vaseline or antibiotic ointment on the area. I applied Vaseline but people swear by engine oil but i don't recommend it all and Vaseline was what we were told to use.
3: Make sure to avoid touching it
4: Make sure to change the diaper every time so far there is urine no matter how little to avoid infection cause its an open wound so you have to be careful for as much as possible

Please if you notice anything, whether it's blood, pus, swell or something you are not comfortable call your pediatrician or go to the hospital cause i no know no dey for this one plus after we did it, the nurse said even if we were just driving off from the hospital and notice excess bleeding or swelling, we should turn back. Don't wait or assume.

I hope these tips helped cause they really helped me and the ring fell off on the 10th day after the circumcision. Every skin or healing process differs, so no comparison...go with the flow. I love you for reading and till my next post.
